Business solutions by foobar

The term Embedded Systems refers to computer systems which are embedded in the context of a technical device. This is why they have often got only limited resources (memory, CPU) and only a few connections to their environment (e.g. network, special busses).

Specific constraints

The main focus is on space and energy saving hardware solutions, whose purpose is limited to one or few specific tasks. The processors used are often derived from older, simpler models, emphasizing the power saving character of these systems. The relatively low speed of such processors is compensated for by the fact mostly only a single program is run of this kind of systems, so that available computing power is not compromised by multitasking.

A multitude of applications

Typical applications are technical devices in charge of complex control processes performed by software running of a specialized processor. Practical examples extend from airplanes, vehicles, vessels via cash registers, washing machines consumer electronics to mobile phones.

Tailor-made solutions

The requirements of a particular embedded application as well as the specific hardware environment call for tailor-made software for every project. We would be delighted to help you implementing your next embedded system by using our Know-How, which extends from boot loaders via kernel modifications and device drivers to complex application design.
