The Dolphin SuperSockets software allows applications based on Berkeley Sockets (TCP/UDP) to use Dolphin Express hardware as a transparent communication media. The main advantages are the plug-and-play functionality, the high bandwidth and the latencies, that are significant smaller than the ones of other network technologies, like Gigabit Ethernet, Infiniband and Myrinet.
